OverviewJoin to apply for the Private Banking Associate Credit role at BMO U.S.Develops, manages, retains and grows profitable banking relationships with high-net-worth clients and prospects. Assists in designing, developing and delivering solutions that meet complex balance sheet management needs while providing expert service and highly personalized interaction. Develops and executes a business plan to profitably grow overall banking revenue while adhering to the Bank’s risk tolerance. Works collaboratively in the branch and regional teams to identify and make referrals. Responsibilities Manages the retention and expansion of client relationships through a contact strategy and ongoing review of client banking needs. Coordinates client relationship management with the lead relationship manager for the assigned portfolio. Applies relationship management principles to an assigned portfolio, delivering a value-added client experience. Acts as a secondary member of a client deal team to facilitate the client experience and achieve business goals. Maintains knowledge of financial planning principles and incorporates them into planning strategies for clients. Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; ensures alignment among stakeholders. Analyzes data, identifies strategic problems and provides insights and recommendations; monitors performance and addresses issues. Ensures high quality information supports decisions; contributes to portfolio profitability through expense control and pricing practices. Negotiates pricing with discretion to build a profitable portfolio. Provides integrated, customized advice using a consultative approach to help clients achieve financial and personal goals. Applies financial planning skills to each client’s personal and financial situation. Acts as an ambassador to enhance BMO’s reputation in the market and adheres to all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and ethical requirements. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of banking products, processes, and relevant regulatory and technology requirements. Ensures lending and non-lending decisions and prospecting activities are documented; responds to questions and resolves issues raised through audits and reviews. Manages risk and minimizes losses through monitoring and control reports and proper verifications. Documents discrepancies and escalates per guidelines; performs sales and service activities to meet client needs and maintain service levels. Develops rapport and credibility with clients to earn trust; focuses on business/group within BMO as applicable. Exercises judgment to diagnose and solve problems within given rules; may work independently on complex tasks. Qualifications Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must meet licensing and certification requirements for the team/branch/jurisdiction. Credit qualifications and knowledge according to the bank’s standards; basic knowledge of Personal and Commercial credit and related products. Strong sales, client service, business development, relationship management, collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and resolve complex or ambiguous issues; technically proficient from education and/or experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and data-driven decision making. Compensation and Location Salary: $57,500.00 - $106,500.00 Pay Type: Salaried Part-time roles: compensation pro-rated; commission structures may apply.
