ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Staff Engineer, you will focus on multiple areas and provide technical and thought leadership to the enterpriseCollaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve tough problemsDevelop and execute technical software development strategy for a variety of domainsAccountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutionsUtilize programming languages like Java, Python, or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and servicesMentor engineers and educate executives, strengthening the technical expertise of the engineering and product communityShare best practices and improve processes within and across teamsAnalyze cost and forecast, incorporating them into business plansDetermine and support resource requirements, evaluate operational processes, measure outcomes to ensure desired results, and sponsor continuous learning QualificationsDesign, experiment, and influence engineering direction and product roadmapsExperience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to productionTrack record of publications in credible conferences and journalsExperience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as codeStrong knowledge of CS data structures and algorithmsAbility to solve analytical problems with quantitative approachesAbility to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environmentKnowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycleFluency in at least two modern languages such as Java, Python, or C# with OO designExperience with microservices architecture and extensible REST or GraphQL APIsExperience designing architecture and design (patterns, reliability, scaling) for new and current systemsFluency in DevOps concepts, cloud architecture, and Azure DevOpsExperience with Azure Portal and app monitoring toolsExtensive knowledge of Azure platform and its native servicesKnowledge of security protocols and products: Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth Experience10+ years of professional software development experience within a Java framework8+ years of experience with architecture and design6+ years of experience with open-source frameworks4+ years of experience with Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud strategies3+ years of experience designing modern web applications (React, etc) is a plus3+ years of experience deploying AI/ML models (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc) is a plus EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience Annual Salary$100,000.00 - $260,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
