OverviewJoin to apply for the Union Chief Engineer role at CBREChicago - Illinois - United States of AmericaThe Union Chief Engineer is responsible for engineering operations. Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance. Uses several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.What You'll DoPlan, implement, coordinate and lead all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and workforce development programs for a facility, campus or portfolio of buildingsCoordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and techniciansCoordinate all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues and stay current with HVAC technology trendsMaintain ongoing communication with tenants, clients, owners, facility management team and vendorsRespond to all emergency situations quickly (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and address customer concernsSupervise the performance and development of preventative maintenance measuresWhat You'll NeedMust be a Local 399 Union MemberCity of Chicago Stationary Engineer’s License requiredActive member of Local 3994+ years of commercial chief or supervisory level experience in operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property settingPhysical requirements to include stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. Must have the ability to operate an EMS and CMMS system. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
