Position Summary This position involves operating the asphalt plant efficiently and effectively to maximize production while maintaining a safe work environment at all times. Responsibilities * Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task * Operator loader to receive incoming raw materials and maintains inventory levels and stockpiles * Assists plant management in ordering materials needed for plant operation * Operates plant equipment to regulate the flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, and storage bins * Performs repairs as needed to plant equipment and performs preventative maintenance in order to keep the plant running * Assists plant management with record keeping and daily production schedules for submitting reports on production and maintenance * Performs a variety of tasks assisting with the operation of the plant, including using hand tools, cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits * Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills * Perform well in a "TEAM" environment * Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency * Willing to work hours that are associated with the asphalt industry, including overtime and weekends as needed * Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. * Basic mathematical skills * Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen Minimum Education and Experience * 1-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment. Experience in the asphalt industry preferred. * High School Diploma or equivalent experience. We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $34.01+. Membership with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union No, 9 is required upon hire. Condition and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
