The store emphasizes food as a means of community building, cultural preservation, and tradition creation, making each location a true marketplace for goods, services, and ideas.Job DescriptionThe position serves as a leader, motivator, and expert in the successful operation of all areas of Production and Sales across various departments:Non-Perishable: grocery, dairy, frozen foods, healthy living, bulk foods, gift basketsPerishable: produce, meat market, seafood market, floralFood Service: kitchen, cafe, prepared foods, cooking school, bakery, deli, cheese departmentsThis role is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, partner engagement, and achievement of company objectives, reporting directly to the General Manager.ResponsibilitiesMake employment-related and business decisions using independent judgment, including strategies for products and departments, hiring, promoting, disciplining, and partner relationsOversee multiple departments, including merchandising, product mix, and costs, via department managersDirect, coordinate, and evaluate departmental operationsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and company standards regarding product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitationSupervise daily management of departments and merchandising effortsMaintain vendor relations and communicate expectations clearlyConduct employment interviews, performance appraisals, and gather partner feedbackTrain and develop partners to enhance team performanceProvide exceptional customer serviceRequirementsStrong supervisory and management skills across all departmentsLong-term strategic and financial planning abilitiesBachelor's degree, with 1-2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceProficiency with automated reporting systems (inventory, food cost, scheduling, time & attendance, labor)Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to innovate and champion new initiativesValuing diversity and handling stressful situations effectivelyStrong analytical, organizational, and planning skillsAbility to prioritize, delegate, and develop teams**Note:** This job posting is active and accepting applications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
