Spread over 542 acres, Leisure World offers the charm of small-town living along with easy access to the cultural, recreational, and entertainment amenities of Los Angeles and Orange County.About the RoleThe Executive Director will be a proven leader known for building effective partnerships, engaging diverse perspectives, and navigating complex relationships with a Board of Directors, executive leadership, and a vibrant resident community.We are seeking someone with exceptional communication and diplomacy skills, along with a commitment to transparency, accountability, and innovation. This is a rare opportunity to make a meaningful impact in one of California’s most admired active senior communities.Foster a positive, innovative organizational culture that empowers and motivates staff.Embrace progressive ideas while analyzing potential future impacts and outcomes.Maintain a conservative fiscal mindset, balanced with empathy for resident needs.Develop objective, professional working relationships with all 16 Mutual Boards and the GRF Board of municate clearly and proactively with the Board, emphasizing transparency and trust.Build a leadership team with shared values, aligned goals, and clear expectations.Exhibit high ethical standards and a professional, polished presence.Possess sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and operational expertise.Demonstrate strong skills in strategic planning, team building, resource allocation, and leadership coaching.Cultivate a collaborative, engaged team and community culture.Show strong conflict resolution, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Be an excellent listener, communicator, and negotiatorEducation, Experience & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field preferred.Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible leadership in retirement community management, municipal administration, property management, or association governance.Executive management experience, including hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring.Certification through the California Association of Community Managers (CACM), or ability to obtain CACM or an equivalent recognized certification.Must possess a comprehensive understanding of the Davis-Stirling Common Interest Development Act, with ongoing compliance required for relevant community association operations.GRF offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
