This is your opportunity to shape the electrical architecture of next-generation spacecraft that will redefine the future of space exploration.Our client is seeking a visionary engineering leader to drive the design and development of mission-critical avionics systems, from custom PCBA design to full spacecraft integration. In this role, you’ll not only architect advanced space vehicle electronics, but also build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team to achieve technical excellence.What you’ll do as the Director of Electrical Engineering:Architect spacecraft systems – own all avionics and electrical design decisions.Lead and grow a high-caliber electrical engineering team.Oversee the design, testing, and production of custom circuit boards and electronic systems.Develop and refine engineering processes to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.Collaborate with cross-functional experts in propulsion, software, GNC, and structures.Set and uphold rigorous technical standards across all avionics programs.Drive system-level troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to ensure mission success.What You Bring as the Director of Electrical Engineering:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).10+ years in spacecraft electrical engineering, with expertise in system architecture and circuit board design.Proven leadership in building and managing technical teams.Deep knowledge of component selection, simulation, layout, testing, and board manufacturing.Familiarity with EEE parts sourcing and screening.Excellent communicator and mentor with a passion for elevating team performance.U.S. Citizenship or ITAR-compliant status required.Bonus Points For:Experience with Altium Designer.Background in GEO, GTO, MEO, or deep-space environments.Hands-on design experience with avionics components such as FPGAs, antennas, star trackers, optics, or motors.Startup or agile engineering environment experience.Why This Role?This is more than just a leadership position—it’s a chance to be at the forefront of aerospace innovation, architecting technologies that will drive the future of space logistics and exploration.
