We were named a 2024 Most Loved Workplace.Salary: $95,000 - $120,000ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of the Regional Plant Director, lead a team to execute operational strategies that align with company culture and long-term goals and to meet or exceed customer expectations. Provide direct oversight to an assigned plant and ensure safety, regulatory compliance, production, and waste management goals are achieved within the region.Provide leadership in managing the operations team and support staff to ensure compliant handling and treatment of all waste streams according to Clean Earth policy and applicable regulations.Coach and develop managers and supervisors in planning, organizing, and leading through continuous coaching and feedback; conduct performance appraisals aligned with company goals and safety and regulatory requirements.Make recommendations and/or approvals on salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and dismissals within the plant and participate in recruitment and hiring of plant staff as needed.Conduct regular meetings to inform teams about current issues, procedural/operational changes, and company developments.Oversee selection, training, and development of a diverse workforce within the plant; provide technical support and assist in training related to plant operations.Promote safety and security initiatives across the plant; implement and train on safety protocols and compliance measures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.Ensure daily operations comply with state, federal, and local regulatory requirements; resolve hazards or unsafe conditions promptly.Resolve customer issues with urgency to maintain high service levels and grow the business within the plant.Drive continual improvement of productivity standards and team safety in all operation phases within budgetary goals.Stay informed on inbound waste management updates, including 10-day management, waste receiving, lab testing, and waste acceptance regulations.Oversee waste processing processes to align with company goals and safety and regulatory requirements; keep waste inventory compliant and up to date.Oversee shipping processes and stay updated on outbound third-party vendor changes or outages.Execute and oversee management processes for costs, facilities, supplies, and people leadership while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance; maintain facilities and manage budgets.Generate and submit Capital Expense requests and stay informed about asset management regulations and standards.Perform other related duties or project work as required.QualificationsExperience:Minimum 7 years of experience in a related field, including plant management software systems, knowledge of DoT regulations and standards, understanding of transportation logistics and planning, and vehicle maintenance and repair.Minimum 7 years of proven leadership experience.Experience in the hazardous waste industry is required.Knowledge of applicable regulations and codes as they apply to the waste industry and the area of responsibility.Ability to manage within an established budget and a strong understanding of budgetary statements, cost management, asset management, and project management.Skills:Ability to work independently with initiative and effective communication to solve challenges.Budget management skills.Understanding of DOT regulations.Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to large groups.Leadership and delegation abilities to guide others.Proficient computer skills and familiarity with software applications.Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable improvements.Planning and organizing with experience in formal project management.Knowledge of lean management, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.Proficiency in change management methodologies and practices.BenefitsClean Earth offers competitive benefits including health, dental, vision, life, and insurance plans starting on day one; paid time off, wellness benefits, employee discount program, tuition assistance, and a 401(k) with company matching.EEO notice: We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, veteran status, disability, or genetics.
