SummaryThe incumbent physician is expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of consultative Rheumatology patient care at the Fredericksburg Health Care Center (FxHCC) Medicine Section. The physician will manage patients with ongoing rheumatology conditions in collaboration with other sections within FxHCC. The incumbent is accountable to the FxHCC Rheumatology Section Lead, ensuring the most effective delivery of care within the FxHCC Rheumatology Section.QualificationsTo qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the requirements at initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements.Basic Requirements:United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, per VA policy.Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved medical school.Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.Residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification, in an accredited core specialty program.Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and are not considered independent practitioners.Proficiency in spoken and written English.Physical requirements include visual acuity, hearing, speech, manual dexterity, and ability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, and transferring patients.DutiesProvide clinical, administrative, and leadership oversight of the FxHCC Rheumatology Section, including training and supervising medical residents and students.Perform diagnostic and procedural skills, including interpreting EKGs, performing arthrocentesis, and understanding musculoskeletal ultrasound indications.Coordinate patient care through effective communication and documentation.Participate in quality assurance, safety monitoring, and educational activities.Attend staff meetings and participate in medical staff plete medical records per bylaws and regulations.Engage in scholarly activities and CME as required.Report to the FxHCC Rheumatology Section Lead and be accountable to the Section Chief and Medical Service Leadership. #J-18808-Ljbffr
