New England Cancer Specialists is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our practices in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This 4-day workweek position requires broad oncology and hematology experience. The candidate will collaborate closely with physicians to diagnose, treat, and manage patients in an outpatient setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Hospital Consults Take medical histories, perform physical exams, and develop differential diagnoses Assess physical and psychosocial status, order and interpret tests, diagnose and treat co-morbid illnesses, perform delegated procedures, and prescribe medications within scope Determine patient eligibility for clinical trials Evaluate and improve the quality of care Implement therapeutic plans tailored to patient needs Educate patients and families about disease processes and treatments Provide symptom management and psychosocial support information Weekends: The role involves participation in weekend urgent care coverage 3-4 times per year, compensated at a premium. Required Skills and Experience: Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license for Maine or the ability to obtain it Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license for New Hampshire or the ability to obtain it Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Oncology and Hematology Master’s Degree Women's Health experience is preferred Strong collaboration skills with healthcare team members Excellent communication skills with patients #J-18808-Ljbffr
