Reporting Relationships and Role Purpose:The NL Youth Director will report to the Education Pastor and is responsible for the discipleship and spiritual care of our middle school and high school students. The primary responsibilities of this role are to provide gospel-centered teaching to our students, recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers to invest in our students, and to support our parents in discipling their children. The youth director may be asked to serve in other capacities/ministries as the session sees fit.Responsibilities:GeneralCreate a grace-filled, enthusiastic ministry environment.Serve as a welcoming presence for regular and new parents and their youth students.Work with Pastor and session to form practical strategies based on New Life Pres’s vision and philosophy of ministry.Set vision for youth ministry and yearly SMART goals that align with churchwide vision and goals.Work with New Life Pres’s Education Pastor to coordinate education matters.Work with Welcoming Ministry to plug newcomers and regular attenders into each demographic-specific ministry.Weekly ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and run NL Youth Friday Night meetings:Prepare and present a large group teaching/message.Plan and prepare discussion questions for breakout groups.Plan and run games/fellowship time during Friday Nights.Prepare weekly Sunday school lessons/materials for teachers/volunteers.Send out weekly communication to parents, students, and volunteers regarding NL Youth schedule and activities.Administration & CommunicationFacilitate weekly communication with parents/students/volunteers regarding lesson/activities.Serve as communication “hub” between Pastor/session, Parents, and Members.Maintain class rosters and updated directory.Review and implement child protection policies/practices.Participate in weekly staff meetings.Set and manage itemized NL Youth Ministry budget.Student ShepherdingIdentify potential student servant leaders and provide guidance and mentorship to student servant team (e.g., assign specific roles/tasks, lead student servant team meetings).Mentor and guide student praise team, communicating the vision for leading the ministry in music, creating a schedule for practices, and selecting songs for NL Youth’s Friday program.Meet with students for shepherding as needed.Volunteer & Teacher SupportRecruit and train volunteers for Sunday School, NL Youth Friday Night, and retreats.Conduct quarterly volunteer meetings to check-in and pray with teachers (e.g., student engagement, NL Youth families and their needs, etc.), and note areas for improvement.Manage volunteers via weekly email communication regarding each week’s lesson plan and activities.Curriculum and TeachingCreate and implement yearly curriculum and pacing plan for Fridays and Sundays.Create, revise, and/or improve lessons for Sunday School, Friday Night, and baptism & confirmation class, as appropriate.Teach weekly large group gatherings (Friday Nights during school year, Sundays during summer).Teach baptism & confirmation class twice a year (Fall & Spring).Parent/Family LiaisonDevelop supportive, collaborative relationships with parents of children.Coordinate with pastor and session when parent support, child development, and discipline needs arise.Provide necessary support to families to assist in the spiritual nurture of youth students at home.Special EventsCoordinate, plan, and execute two retreats each ministry year (winter and summer).Assist in recruitment of youth students for church-wide activities/anize and run mid-year fellowship events for students (i.e., yearly lock-in, senior celebration, summer bonfire, class fellowship events).Plan and execute teacher appreciation events at least once a year.Summary: Provide spiritual, logistical, and relational leadership for New Life Pres’ Youth Ministry (ages: 6th-12th grade).Hours: 20-25 hours/weekPay: Available upon requestStart date: ImmediatePlease send a cover letter, resume, and contact info for two references to . #J-18808-Ljbffr
