Go back Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation TrustConsultant AnaesthetistThe closing date is 29 October 2025We are inviting candidates to be part of our Anaesthetic Consultant team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, working across both our hospital sites at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke and the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester.We are excited to announce the opening of our state-of-the-art Orthopaedic Centre in Winchester, scheduled for July 2025. This new facility is a testament to our Trust's ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the region and working collaboratively with orthopaedic services across Hampshire and Isle of Wight to serve patients across our communities.This is a full time 10 PA Consultant Anaesthetist post, which is based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester (RHCH). If desired some anaesthetic sessions could be delivered cross-site by mutual agreement and depending on service needs.The successful candidate will work within our friendly Anaesthetic Consultant team and provide departmental leadership and supervision of a group of junior and mid-grade doctors at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.Main duties of the jobRole-specific duties:Provide a safe, effective, responsive, and caring anaesthetic service to a level expected by a Consultant.Agree a job plan with the Clinical Director in Anaesthetics and work flexibly as far as is possible to accommodate the needs of the Department.To ensure that standards are maintained and developed through clinical audit, quality improvement hampshirehospitalscareers.co.uk and evidence-based research.Participate actively in clinical governance, including reporting of incidents, investigation of serious incidents and any complaints.Show a determination to meet or exceed the standards of the National Patients' Rights Charter.To be familiar with the Royal College of Anaesthetists' curriculum for Junior Doctor Training and contribute to their training requirements, including tutorials and educational supervision where required.About usOur vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient.
