The Ultrasound Technician performs ultrasound exams, provides technical assistance to the provider, and operates/maintains equipment. The U/S Tech preps patients and ensures that policies and procedures established by the department and Urban Health Plan are maintained. Operates ultrasound equipment to produce and record quality images.Performs sonography examinations to observe areas of concern (including but not limited to pelvic, thyroid, kidney, liver, pancreas, OB).Prepares patients for examinations by explaining procedures clearly to reduce anxiety.Obtains relevant patient history prior to exams.Maintains patient records and adds notes to images/videos.Manages appointment schedules and ensures timely reporting of results to providers.Reports any abnormalities requiring immediate attention to medical staff.Minimum Qualifications:ARDMS registration required (RDMS in Abdomen or OBGYN) with related experience.Graduate of a two-year ultrasound program.At least one year of independent general sonography experience beyond internships.Skilled in computer and electronic health record software; knowledge of PACS is a plus.Bilingual English/Spanish strongly pensation: Minimum $80,000 per year; Maximum $84,000 per year.Work Environment: Onsite, Bronx, NY, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.About Urban Health Plan: At UHP, our mission is to improve community health by providing affordable, comprehensive, quality primary and specialty healthcare, and promoting innovative practices.
