About the practice The Hematology & Oncology practice at Celebration/Kissimmee is affiliated with AdventHealth Cancer Institute, one of the most comprehensive cancer programs in the state. The multidisciplinary team provides treatment for all cancers, in outpatient and inpatient chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and symptom management for cancer and blood disorders. Patients have access to cancer support and resources, including access to national clinical trials, a cancer care coordinator, and an oncology social worker. Our physicians are board certified in oncology and internal medicine and bring extensive clinical experience in the treatment of cancers and blood diseases. General Summary The Advanced Practice Provider, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for: Performs physical examinations of patients evaluated and treated for oncology and hematology within the hospital setting. Locations include Celebration and Kissimmee. Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory tests, X-ray, etc. Monitors the patient/'s course of treatment and makes appropriate referrals to a physician or specialist as needed. Treatment and management of a wide variety of cancers including but not limited to breast, lung, gastrointestinal, head and neck, and urologic cancers, along with chronic leukemias and lymphomas. Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff. Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times and maintains personal and professional growth. Knowledge and Skills Required Required: 1-3 years of experience as APRN or PA-C in Hematology/Oncology The hospitals that will be covered: AdventHealth Celebration and AdventHealth Kissimmee Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public Strong communication skills and strong medical decision-making skills are a must Strong clinical background with an emphasis on oncology related conditions Candidate must be able to pass a third-party background check and pre-employment drug screen Required Education/Experience Master/'s degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Studies Licensure, Certification, and Registration Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license ANCC, AANP (or equivalent) certification is required BLS and ACLS required ONS Certification preferred Category: Physician Services Req ID: 147363179 #J-18808-Ljbffr
