OverviewThe primary responsibilities for this role will include oversight of all quality and food safety activities related to operations at the Supply Chain Development Center. The individual in this role will apply comprehensive knowledge of food safety and quality to the creation and revision of quality and food safety programs. They will act as the quality and safety liason between cross functional teams and teams at the Supply Chain Development Center. The individual in this role will also work within the Chick-fil-A Innovation Process to pursue new ideas and partner with the SCDC team to develop new concepts.The person in this role will be responsible for understanding Chick-fil-A’s safety and quality standards for applicable food and packaging items and will collaborate with internal partners & suppliers to ensure food safety and quality requirements are met.Our Flexible Future model offers a healthy mix of working in person and virtually, strengthening key elements of the Chick-fil-A culture by fostering collaboration and community.ResponsibilitiesApply comprehensive knowledge of food safety and quality to the creation of quality and food safety programs for operations at the Supply Chain Development Center (SCDC)Act as quality and safety liason between cross functional teams and teams at the Supply Chain Development CenterDevelop new food safety programs in support of new concepts being explored, following the innovation process phases of Plan-Understand-Imagine-Prototype-Validate-Launch and the associated progressive levels of fidelityRegularly review and recommend changes to existing quality and safety programs and processesProvide feedback on third party contracted services (production labor, cleaning and sanitation, etc)Manage relationship with third party laboratory that will conduct routine environmental and product testing, including budgetary considerations for testingInfluence other teams as it relates to executing quality and safety practices with excellenceConduct investigations on improvement projects (e.g. holds, customer complaints) to identify root causes, and identify corrective actions and monitor for effectivenessExecute and/or support execution of required checks according to QMS (Quality Monitoring Scheme)Execute activities and initiatives in support of new product development at SCDCPerform verification on finished goods documentation to ensure that each finished goods lot meets product/process release criteriaConduct training of team members to ensure process checks are accurate and timely as stated in QMSHold "out of specification" productEnsure compliance related to instruments calibration within facilityExecute GMPs throughout the facility and follow food safety rules and proceduresMake revisions to Food Safety Plan and ProceduresAssist in Document Control SystemSupport Management of Change processSupport tracking/trending of Behavior Based Quality programsOrganize records and files, summarize data, and prepare and interpret reports used by managementEnsure compliance to procedures and work instructionsEnsure correct recording of quality checks, including storage and retrieval of records by QA techniciansSupport Production team in attaining applicable quality standards (QMS, GMP, Manufacturing instructions, etc.)Execute internal quality & food safety auditsSupports continuous improvement of Quality Metrics/KPIsServe as main contact point for authority visitsLead designated QA contractors on accuracy and effectiveness of work, approve timecards, PTO and schedulesPerform material and packaging inspections, monitoring of in-process inspections and finished product documentation reviewMaintain logs and data records associated with job function (e.g. non-conforming materials, corrective action log, hold logs, net content files, traceability etc.)Support the compliance to FSQ requirements while supporting continuous improvementMonitors day to day activities of designated QA contractorsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in food science, microbiology, chemistry, or other related field preferred3+ yrs in Quality and/or Safety field, manufacturing QA experience preferredKnowledge of Continuous ImprovementKnowledge of innovation processes, product and process developmentComfortability in environments and working on projects that include uncertaintyExcitement around pursuing new projects, exploring new ideas, and developing concepts at an early stageGood verbal and written communications skillsStrong attention to detailMust be able to handle multiple assignmentsMust be precise and accurate, well-organized workerMust be able to perform in a demanding, fast-paced environmentGood mathematical (basic statistical skills highly desirable), problem-solving and analytical skillsProficiency with computer systems, personal computers, spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office, etc.) and mainframe system with custom applications preferredPCQI (Preventative Control Qualified Individual) requiredBasic SQF training preferredCommunication: Skilled in communicating and persuadingQuick & Versatile Learning: Learns quickly when facing new problems;
