This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds: meaningful collaboration in our Duluth office and the flexibility of remote work.The People & Culture (P&C) People Partner is a trusted advisor responsible for delivering operational P&C generalist services across Viasat Government (VGOV). This role supports employees and managers through the full employee lifecycle, ensuring consistent application of P&C policies, effective resolution of employee relations matters, and a positive, inclusive workplace culture.Operating in a dynamic and highly regulated environment, the People Partner provides hands-on support in performance management, investigations, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations. This role collaborates closely with shared services, centers of excellence, and other P&C functions to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with VGOV’s values and business goals.The day-to-dayEmployee Relations & InvestigationsServe as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to employees and managersConduct thorough, impartial workplace investigations and document findings with recommended actionsPromote open communication and conflict resolution to foster a respectful and productive work environmentPerformance ManagementCoach managers through performance management processes including goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement plansSupport facilitation of performance reviews and ensure alignment with VGOV’s culture of accountabilityProvide tools and resources to drive effective performance conversations and outcomesPolicy Implementation & ComplianceEnsure HR policies and procedures are communicated, understood, and consistently appliedMonitor legal compliance and risk management practices, staying current with employment law and industry standardsSupport audit readiness and documentation integrity across employee relations and HR processesOperational HR SupportManage and maintain employee records, contracts, and P&C documentationRespond to P&C queries and provide day-to-day support for onboarding, offboarding, leave management, and other lifecycle processesCollaborate with shared services and centers of excellence to ensure efficient and compliant P&C operationsCulture & EngagementSupport initiatives that foster an inclusive, engaging, and high-performing workplace cultureAct as a culture ambassador, modeling VGOV’s values and supporting employee well-beingPartner with leaders to reinforce positive behaviors and drive employee engagementWhat you/'ll needBachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field; HR certification preferred5–8 years of experience in HR generalist or employee relations rolesStrong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practicesProven ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalismExperience in defense, aerospace, or highly regulated industries preferredWhat will help you on the jobUnderstanding and working knowledge of:Employee Relations & Conflict ResolutionPerformance Coaching & Manager EnablementPolicy Implementation & ComplianceOperational HR ExecutionCultural Intelligence & Stakeholder EngagementData Literacy & HR Metrics InterpretationSalary range$104,500.00 - $165,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $124,500.00 - $186,500.00 / annuallyAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
