OverviewThe General Manager is the club's most senior on-site executive and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and oversight of all club operations, including Golf Operations, Pro Shop, and Food & Beverage (Bar and Restaurant). The General Manager will also take a central role in financial & strategic planning, technology system integration, and ensuring that the overall member experience reflects the values and traditions of a private club environment.This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role requiring exceptional communication, financial acumen, and hospitality management skills.Experience RequiredMinimum 5 years of senior management experience in a private club, luxury hospitality, or resort environment.Proven success in managing golf operations, F&B, and retail.Deep knowledge of golf course agronomy and turfgrass management practices.Strong financial management and budgeting skills with P&L accountability.High level of proficiency with club management softwareExcellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.Preferred:Bachelor's degree in hospitality, Business Management, or related field.PGA or CMAA affiliation (or equivalent).Experience working with club boards or member-led committees.Certification in food safety, alcohol service, and first aid.Essential ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary liaison between the club's Board of Directors and all departments.Execute the Board's strategic vision while providing professional guidance on operational decisions and club policy.Uphold the club's traditions, culture, and commitment to excellence.Prepare and present monthly reports on operational, financial, and strategic mattersGolf Operations OversightSupervise all aspects of the golf operation including tee time management, pace of play, golf events, and member services.Work collaboratively with the Head Golf Professional and Course Superintendent to ensure exceptional golf course conditions and service standards.Collaborate closely with Golf Course Superintendent to ensure optimal turf conditions across the courseManage the selection, acquisition and leasing of golf course maintenance equipmentDevelop and support golf programming including tournaments, leagues, clinics, and junior programs tailored to the private club member base.Ensure consistent application of club rules and etiquette standards on the course.Pro Shop ManagementOversee Pro Shop operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and sales strategy.Work with vendors to ensure premium product offerings aligned with member preferences.Supervise staff to deliver attentive and knowledgeable service consistent with a private club environment.Implement seasonal promotions and purchasing plans in alignment with club events and budget goals.Food & Beverage / Clubhouse OperationsLead the management of all clubhouse dining operations including the restaurant, bar, patio service, and event catering.Maintain elevated service standards, menu development, and member engagement in collaboration with the Executive Chef and Bar Manager.Oversee scheduling, training, and performance of all F&B staff.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.Working in conjunction with the Social Committee, plan and execute club social events and member functions in keeping with club traditions and expectations.Financial Management ResponsibilitiesPrepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with the Board Treasurer and Finance Committee.Monitor department-level financial performance with a focus on cost control, revenue generation, and efficient resource allocation.Present monthly financial statements and variance reports to the Board, including commentary and action plans as needed.Establish purchasing and inventory controls for Pro Shop and F&B operations.Lead initiatives to optimize financial performance while preserving a high-quality member experience.Technology & Systems OversightOversee all club technology systems including member management and communication platforms, tee time reservation software, POS systems for retail and F&B, accounting, CRM, and event management systems, and social media platforms.Ensure that staff are trained on technology tools and that systems are integrated to support efficient operations and accurate reporting.Utilize data analytics to track member usage patterns, identify service improvements, and support strategic planning.Recommend upgrades or innovations in club technology that improve member experience and operational efficiency.Maintain best practices in cybersecurity and data privacy.BenefitsCompetitive salary with performance incentives.Full benefits package including health and plimentary golf and dining privileges.Supportive, collegial work environment in a respected and vibrant private club.Opportunity to make a lasting impact in a leadership role at a premier golf facility.Employer matched retirement incentive #J-18808-Ljbffr
