This OpportunityWSP is looking for talented individuals to join our team as a Project Director to support the company’s growing Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change division. This position could work out of WSP’s office in Boulder, CO. Other WSP office locations can be arranged for an exceptional candidate. The individual will be involved in projects with our Climate, Resilience and Sustainability Team and be part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.The individual will lead client-facing teams in the design, management, and reporting of product and organizational sustainability programs in the electronics and technology business sectors, focusing on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA). The ideal candidate will have the flexibility and capacity to work on a wide variety of projects and the demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional teams. Candidates should be passionate about LCA, sustainability, and climate resilience, self-motivated and self-directed, collaborative, and able to produce high-quality work products.Your ImpactLead delivery with electronics LCA projects from start to finish, including:Researching and collecting life cycle inventory data, performing quality assurance, developing new datasets to fill data gapsPerforming modeling in software platforms such as LCA For Experts (formerly GaBi), SimaPro, GREET and openLCADeveloping product life cycle assessments to calculate impacts such as GHG emission, energy use, water use, consumption and scarcity, waste, and other impacts.Producing reports (screening-level and ISO-conformant, comparative and non-comparative) and presentations based on the results of LCAsProducing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), eco passports/profiles and LCA background reports per relevant Product Category Rules (PCRs) and the EU Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodologyResearch opportunities to reduce environmental impacts in the life cycle of a product or serviceProduce sustainability reports, disclosures, and other communicationsDevelop and maintain data management systems and business intelligence toolsSupport business development activities with existing and prospective clientsExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needsWho You AreRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, or environmental discipline required.Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in product sustainability and LCA consulting in the electronics and technology business sectorsExperience with developing ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 conformant LCA reportsFamiliarity with the product design process, manufacturing, supply chain management, circular economy principles and methods of reducing wasteWell-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrityStrong oral and written communications skills, and use of Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Word and PowerPointAbility to develop and present analyses using programs such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI.Ability to work independently, iteratively prioritize tasks, and manage time efficientlyAbility to collaborate remotely across geographies and platformsProven record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirementsPreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, or environmental disciplineExperience using LCA software and methodologies (e.g., LCA for Experts, formerly GaBi, SimaPro, openLCA, GREET)Experience with ISO standards relevant to LCA, such as 14040, 14044, 14025, 14046, 14064, and 14067Experience with other sector areas such as food and beverage, agriculture, apparel/textiles, construction productsExperience with EPDs and PEF methodologyFamiliarity with emerging circularity standards and the application of such standards to LCAFamiliarity with water foot printing, water stress and scarcity methodologies such as AWAREWSP Benefits:WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
