Assistant Store Manager - Lucky- 2000 Portola Ave, Livermore, CA 94550The Save Mart Companies is one of the largest food retailers in California and Nevada. We are recruiting for the Assistant Store Manager position to direct and lead day-to-day store operations in collaboration with the Store Manager.The Assistant Store Manager directs store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and oversees product quality, store conditions, and inventory to ensure compliance with company programs and policies.Key responsibilities include leadership and development of front-end and center-store teams, assigning work, coaching, training, and directing team members to meet service levels and budget goals. The ASM collaborates with perimeter department managers to control labor, utilities, and operating costs, and to ensure legal and policy compliance. The ASM also manages in-store training, scheduling, and the development of team members toward store management.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Excellent leadership and team-building skills. Manages all front-end store operations, directs team members to meet service levels, manages cash handling, develops staff work schedules, and conducts time-management training. In the Manager’s absence, acts as final decision maker on store operational issues.Oversees and resolves inventory issues with vendors and warehouses; audits product quality and date integrity throughout the store.Supervises and coaches team members, assigns duties, completes performance reviews, and participates in advancement and disciplinary decisions.Manages the in-store training program, developing content to improve team performance and store operations.Provides ongoing development opportunities, including training and coaching aimed at advancement toward store management.Participates in recruiting and hiring processes; leads the recruitment process and makes hiring decisions.Works with the Store Manager to train and direct team members in Front-End and Center Store areas.Promotes two-way communication with customers and team members; identifies areas for improvement and implements store-specific programs to improve customer goodwill and morale.Directs work for front-end and center store teams and supports execution of store-level business strategy.Drives customer focus and supports Customer Connection programs; demonstrates and trains associates to provide excellent customer service.Supports achievement of storewide sales goals; analyzes sales and profitability data and recommends actions to control expenses and maximize profits.Directs team activity in product recalls, store cleanliness, maintenance, and serves as the store contact during inspections (Health Department, OSHA).Ensures compliance with sanitation, safety, security, and other policies; leads action plans to stay compliant with legal mandates.Hiring pay range: $77,091.00 - 101,182.00Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Excellent leadership and team-building skillsStrong written and verbal communicationExcellent interpersonal, customer service, coaching, mentoring, and training skillsProven abilities in decision making, delegation, and negotiationStrong organization, administration, and financial skillsFundamental understanding of labor contractsKnowledge of store operations and financials, store hazardous materials and food safety rules, employment law, union contractual language, interviewing techniques and hiring practicesEducation: Four-year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience)Experience: Two years of related experiencePhysical: Basic office environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objectsReference: req39885Follow us:Instagram: @savemartFacebook: Save MartYouTube: @savemartsupermarketsLinkedIn: The Save Mart CompaniesThe Save Mart Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we welcome resumes from individuals who will contribute to our diverse workforce. #J-18808-Ljbffr
