The campus features a newly remodeled, 14-bed Pediatric ER, a state-of-the-art pediatric intensive care unit staffed 24/7 with in-house pediatric critical care, daily pediatric surgery coverage, pediatric anesthesiology and radiology, a pediatric hospital medicine service line, and a range of pediatric specialists including cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, and infectious disease. It also includes pediatric ancillary support such as child life services.The Department of Pediatrics offers faculty appointments through the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. The department supports a categorical pediatrics residency for up to 18 residents and an internal medicine/pediatrics residency in collaboration with Wesley Medical Center.
