Being a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and officer in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps will offer you both, and much more. Overview Outstanding Skills Gained You’ll provide specialized care to patients requiring general anesthesia, respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and fluid therapy. CRNA degree must be accredited by COA Must pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and board certifications Must hold an RN that is current, valid, active and unrestricted license to practice nursing Must have license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico Must be eligible for board certification Must be between 21 and 42 years of age Must be a U.S. citizen for Active Duty Must have permanent U.S. Residency for Reserve duty officers Outstanding Advanced Education Opportunity The U.S. Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing is a full tuition, Doctor of Nursing program offered through Baylor University. The USAGPAN program is accredited by the COA. Students selected are commissioned as an Active-duty Soldier and receive full pay and allowances commensurate with their rank assigned during the entire program. Applicants must have at least one year of Critical Care Nursing experience as defined by COA, with competitive Graduate Record Exam scores.
