OverviewThe Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a Movement Disorders Clinical Faculty to join the Department of Neurology. The ideal candidate will be a fellowship-trained movement neurologist to join a clinical team of 3 movement disorder physicians and 4 movement-trained APPs. The Ohio State University Center for Parkinsons Disease and Other Movement Disorders has been recognized as a Parkinsons Foundation Comprehensive Care Center providing the highest standard of care with a multidisciplinary team that includes advanced practice providers, social worker, nurse, genetic counsellor, neuropsychologist, palliative care neurologist, physical, occupational and speech therapists. Our division continues to expand its subspecialty clinics and clinical/translational research opportunities are available. Applicants at all academic ranks are encouraged to apply, but the current position may be best suited for a junior to mid-career candidate.The individual should have an interest in a broad clinical movement disorders practice. Clinical activities include outpatient evaluation and management of movement disorders, botulinum toxin injections for movement disorders and candidate selection and management for advanced therapies (deep brain stimulation, including programming, and focused ultrasound), and inpatient service. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students and scholarly activity. Candidates with clinical research experience are encouraged to apply. Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.Department/Division OverviewThe Department of Neurology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We deliver subspecialty care across all neurology disciplines, with services spanning 7 ambulatory facilities and 3 hospitals. The department operates 27 multidisciplinary and personalized clinics, 3 comprehensive inpatient consultation services, an 18-bed neurocritical care unit, a 30-bed stroke ward, and an expanding tele-neurology service partnering with 7 regional hospitals. Our telestroke network includes 32 affiliated hospitals. With over $15.5 million in annual research funding, OSU Neurology focuses on biomarkers and therapeutic targets for neurological disorders. Our research portfolio includes neurogenetics, neuroimmunology and neurodegenerative medicine, and we have a Division of Neurology Health Services Research and Center for the Neurobiology of Aging and Resilience. This year, faculty conducted over 320 clinical trials and studies, supported by a biorepository and brain bank. We offer 10 clinical fellowships and international training opportunities through the OSU Global Neurology Initiative with partner programs in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. In 2024, our Neurology Residency Program ranked in the top 15th percentile nationwide on the Doximity Residency Navigator list.
