The Physician is a primary provider of health services and provides primary care under established protocols and the approved Clinical Policies of WWFHC.Prescribes prenatal and postnatal care; performs deliveries in maternity cases. Treats diseases and injuries of female reproductive system by surgical and conservative means. Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through interviews. Examines patients and determines x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required. Interprets test results and evaluates examination findings. Prescribes prenatal and postnatal care, including diets and medication.Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care such as administering sedatives, prescribing diets, and preparing operative area of patients. Applies surgical procedures and coordinates gynecological and obstetrical operations with anesthesiologist. Administers and prescribes such conservative measures of treatment as antibiotics, drugs, and compresses.Treats patients suffering from surgical shock, postoperative hemorrhages, and other complications. Manages obstetrical and gynecological services. Formulates plans and procedures for obstetrical and gynecological services. Schedules operation of obstetrical and gynecological services with other medical activities. Instructs interns and student residents in obstetrical and gynecological procedures. Serves as consultant on obstetrics and gynecology.ResponsibilitiesClinical: Sees any WWFHC patient, regardless of age, sex, race, condition or association another WWFHC provider of care.Provides Family Medicine services to patients of WWFHC’s.Performs systematic health histories and physical assessments of patients.Reports quality of care issues promptly to the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Medical Officer.Performs episodic care, treatment, and follow-up.Prescribes drug and medicine treatment.Provides patient education and nutritional instruction.Supervise non-physician providers as requested.Keeps a systematic record using an approved format of patient care.RequirementsDoctor of Medicine Degree.Board Eligible/Certified in a primary care specialty from an accredited school of medicine.Must be currently holding, or eligible for, admitting privileges and member in good standing at community and/or tertiary hospitals.Must possess an unrestricted license to practice medicine within the State of Michigan.Must demonstrate a history of cooperative relations with colleagues, support staff, hospital-based providers including nurse midwives, administrators, and patients.Must have excellent communications skills.Must be registered under Michigan and Federal law to prescribe all classes of drugs necessary to carry out the duties described herein. #J-18808-Ljbffr
