Job Description: The Psychiatrist is a primary provider of behavioral health care services at WWFHC, performing a full range of psychiatric assignments in a full-functioning capacity. The Psychiatrist collaborates with behavioral health and primary care providers under established protocols and clinical policies to deliver quality integrated health care to patients.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTION AND DUTIESParticipates in the diagnosis and treatment of newly admitted, convalescent, and chronic pletes physical, mental, and neurological examinations of assigned patients.Reviews medical information submitted to obtain social security disability benefits and provides expert opinions on claims.Treats medical, surgical, psychiatric, and neurological problems of patients.Consults with patients, families, other medical professionals, attorneys, teachers, and interested parties to interpret clinical findings.Conducts group and family therapy sessions.Prepares diagnostic reports for judges, law examiners, government officials, school officials, physicians, and others.Provides expert witness testimony in courts and administrative hearings regarding patients or disability claimants.Directs and instructs nurses, support staff, attendants, and residents in patient care and treatment.Provides guidance to social security disability examiners reviewing claims.Prescribes medications for physical and psychological disorders.Attends and participates in staff conferences.Receives advanced training in psychiatry or neurology.Researches cognitive disorders to identify treatments.Delivers speeches on mental hygiene, child guidance, and related topics.Oversees professional staff work, assigns tasks, sets priorities, and resolves work issues.Performs related work as assigned.Handles complex psychiatric assignments identified by the agency.CLINIC WIDE RESPONSIBILITIESCustomer Relations:Treats guests, patients, physicians, and employees with care, courtesy, and respect.Responds promptly and appropriately to requests.Suggests ways to better meet customer needs.Answers communications promptly, courteously, and respectfully.Teamwork:Works cooperatively within and across departments.Willingly accepts additional responsibilities.Responds quickly to assistance requests.Works closely with patients and teracts with other departments on issues.Accepts feedback and seeks munication:Keeps relevant parties municates clearly and tactfully.Respects confidentiality and privacy at all times.Self-Management:Presents a positive image of pletes assignments independently and timely.Notifies absences and tardiness properly.Willing to work weekends and shifts as needed.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEMedical degree from an accredited school.Board Eligible/Certified in a primary care pletion of a three-year psychiatric residency with certification.Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Michigan.American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification requirements for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.Holding or eligible for hospital admitting privileges in good standing.Additional benefits include vision, STD, LTD, Flexible Spending, 403B, Loan Forgiveness, and a focus on quality care at FQHCs, with 14 paid holidays and a M-F schedule emphasizing work-life balance. #J-18808-Ljbffr
