Job Description

Overview Physician - Primary Care (Women/'s Health) at the Columbus VA Medical Center. This Float Physician provides coverage for Primary Care PACT providers at the Main Columbus facility and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Zanesville, Grove City, Marion, Newark, and the future Delaware CBOC. Must be an experienced designated Women/'s Health Care provider. Responsibilities Assess patient health status through exam and history, conduct screenings, identify risks/needs. Diagnose on clinical findings and develop treatment plans. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure treatment plans are followed. Assess, diagnose, monitor, and promote needs of women/'s health, including well woman exams, breast mass assessment, incontinence, fertility/contraception, prenatal/postpartum care. Compensation and Benefits Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays, possible 5 days CME). Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care. CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (full-time with board certification). Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage. Work Schedule: Full-time; options 0700-1530, 0730-1600, or 0800-1630. Requirements U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when necessary per VA policy). Current, full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state/territory/DC. Residency training in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility; notes about VA faculty etc. Other residency options may be considered per policy. English proficiency, potential probationary period, background/security investigation, online onboarding, REAL ID compliant identification, pre-employment physical, influenza vaccination program participation. Basic Qualifications United States Citizenship as above. Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from LCME-accredited schools or Osteopathic schools; ECFMG for foreign grads as specified.
