Full Time.ResponsibilitiesIn addition to performing the duties of the Sr. Surgical Technologist, the Principal also functions as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to new staff in the scrub role.Assists with equipment repairs and maintenance and serves as the key liaison with Biomedical Technicians.Assists the Perioperative Manager and Director with service-related activities such as checking carts, ordering supplies, and identifying opportunities to streamline operations relative to the role.Salary and BenefitsThe final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.Salary range: $53.26 - $66.37 (Hourly Rate).To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: DescriptionThe Operating Room (OR) at Mount Zion (MZ) is an inpatient care facility consisting of 10 suites performing procedures and surgery in breast/plastics, endocrine, otology/head/neck/sinus (OHNS), benign gynecology, ophthalmology, minimally invasive spine, pain services, radiation oncology and orthopedic surgery. The Mount Zion OR serves patients aged 18 years and older and handles outpatient, inpatient, or overnight stays. The OR has state-of-the-art integrated computer and video systems.Recent technology adopted includes ophthalmology lasers, microscopes and ultrasounds; Setimag technology for sentinel lymph node detection; FESS sinus endoscopy and sleep apnea procedures in OHNS; latest technology in orthopedic surgery; diverse OR staff with extensive experience at Mount Zion.Required QualificationsThree years experience as a Surgical TechnologistGraduate of Surgical Technologist training program or equivalent experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent experienceDemonstrated expertise in one complex surgical specialty or multiple surgical specialtiesDemonstrated skills in precepting, time management, and organization of supplies and equipmentDemonstrated interpersonal skills in customer service, problem-solving, and taking initiativeFlexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locationsPreferred QualificationsUCSF Surgical Technologist experienceCertification as a Surgical TechnologistAbout UCSFAt UCSF Health, our mission of innovative patient care, advanced technology and pioneering research is redefining what’s possible for the patients we serve.
