Neurologist

OverviewHealthcare employer in Phoenix, Arizona seeks to hire an additional Neurologist to their busy physician team. This Neurologist will provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. This responsibility includes the provision of and attention to the care of major and minor illnesses related to the nervous system. Advanced Fellowships in Sleep, Stroke and/or Movement Disorders are a plus but not required.Essential FunctionsAssess health status of pediatric, adolescent, or adult patients through health history, physical examination and diagnostic testsDevelop and implement plans for providing treatment of illness or injury related to the nervous system, such as seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, or Alzheimer’s diseasePerform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with credentialing/privileging policy, including but not limited to:Dementia ScreeningElectroencephalogram or Video EEGElectromyograph (EMG)Assess patient needs and arrange for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for serviceResponsible for documenting patient information and visit information into Electronic Health Record in an accurate and timely mannerProvide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit.
