Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range$313,574.00/yr - $313,574.00/yrDuties DescriptionAs a Psychiatrist 3, you will have over-all administrative responsibility for a major treatment component organized to provide the full range of patient services. You will be responsible for ensuring that treatment programs are planned, organized, and conducted per patient needs. You will provide clinical and administrative oversight to medical staff, including psychiatrists, physicians, pediatricians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and pharmacists; oversee the quality of treatment services provided by medical staff; perform case reviews and provide treatment to patients; provide advice and serve as a resource to lower-level facility medical staff; and collect and analyze data to enhance medication management on an ongoing basis.Minimum QualificationsMust have possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State; certification in psychiatry by the ABPN; and two years of post-board certification experience as a member of the psychiatric staff in a psychiatric hospital and/or in the psychiatry department of a general hospital, one year of which must have included clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or fellows.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.Additional CommentsPsychiatrists at OMH facilities are eligible for:Psychiatrist Loan Repayment Program offering up to $120,000Supplemental income of up to 50% of salary by volunteering to provide evening, night, and weekend coverageDefense and Indemnification Protection- broader in scope than typical medical malpractice coverageOMH sponsored Continuing Medical Education (CME) ProgramAll OMH employees receive a generous benefits package including:NYS medical, dental, & vision insuranceAccess to tuition assistance programsExcellent opportunities for advancement & professional growthPaid time off – 13 paid vacation days in the first year, 5 paid personal days, 13 paid holidays, & paid sick leaveNYS Retirement programsBackground checks will be required.NOTE:In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program).
