Riverside University Health System – Medical Center (RUHS-MC), a recognized academic medical center in Inland Southern California, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Endocrinologist (Assistant Medical Program Director I/II) to join its dynamic and expanding Division of Endocrinology. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated physician to contribute to a growing program within a supportive, multidisciplinary, and academically oriented environment.Position Highlights:Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for a wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, with a focus on complex diabetes management.Collaborate closely with surgical and medical specialties across RUHS-MC.Participate in RUHS-MC’s Joint Commission-certified Inpatient Diabetes Program, which emphasizes high-quality, team-based care.Academic and Leadership Opportunities:RUHS-MC is an academic teaching hospital affiliated with several major universities and supports multiple ACGME-accredited residency programs, including Internal Medicine.Endocrinology Fellowship Program being launched - the successful candidate will play a key role in developing this initiative and shaping its curriculum.Active involvement in the clinical education of Internal Medicine residents and future Endocrinology fellows is expected.Faculty appointments at affiliated universities are available and encouraged.Opportunities for participation in clinical research, quality improvement projects, and academic collaborations are available for candidates with scholarly interests.Qualifications:MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.Board-certified or board-eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.Eligible for medical licensure in the state of California.Demonstrated commitment to teaching, clinical excellence, and collaborative care.Benefit Highlights:Competitive base salary up to $270KAdditional Medical Group salary differential4% cost of living increase spring of 2026Annual leave accrual and 11 paid county holidaysComprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insuranceCALPERS pension planMalpractice/tail Insurance coverageResponsibilities:Supervise physicians, mid-level practitioners, healthcare support staff, interns, and resident physicians; monitor and evaluate performance of clinicians and support staff; manage healthcare service operations and staff struct physicians, mid-level practitioners, interns, resident physicians, and ancillary medical staff on all patient care services; provide professional guidance to healthcare staff engaged in performing patient care.Conduct and participate in in-service training for medical staff and ancillary medical staff; conduct or participate in department or primary care clinic rounds and instruct the medical staff on patient care services in relation to medical treatments and medications.Act as a medical consultant for primary, preventive care, health and wellness, and related community and public health programs; ensure medical staff and ancillary medical staff compliance to department policies, Joint Commission requirements, local, state, and federal regulations related to healthcare.Assist the clinical leadership team with managing department and provider performance improvement, productivity processes, and programs; confer with and advise on department operations and make appropriate recommendations as necessary.Participate in planning and coordinating joint administrative and technical training programs and recommend methods and procedures for coordinating the applicable specialty services for patients; keep informed of current medical techniques, procedures, and itiate, conduct, and coordinate special research projects; participate in conferences, present lectures, and prepare scientific papers.Maintain documentation of care to substantiate coding, in accordance with standards required by Joint Commission, state, and federal guidelines; maintain appropriate records and prepare reports related to the activities of the specialty area/department.Assist clinical leadership in developing and implementing immediate and long-range goals and objectives of medical services programs; establish and revise program policies and procedures according to program guidelines/regulations; develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program quality improvement (QI) activities.Assist clinical leadership with preparing the budget; represent the department in various committees, staff meetings, and professional meetings.Participate in the recruitment and selection of primary and mid-level practitioners.Experience and License/Certificate Requirements:AMPD I - Board EligibleAMPD II - Board CertifiedPossession of a current valid Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate issued by the State of California without restrictions.Possession of a current valid Drug Enforcement Agency registration.Eligible for certification/or Board certified in a specialty medical field by the applicable American Specialty Board.Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required.Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern medicine; current techniques, procedures, and equipment applicable to primary care or the specialized medical field; principles of effective supervision.Ability to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate specialized medical services; perform specialized medical services; supervise and instruct professional and technical personnel; develop and present educational programs for interns, resident physicians, and ancillary medical staff;
