Within our Retail locations, Pharmacy Managers lead and develop a team to provide exceptional patient care, promote best practices, and drive performance with compliance to regulatory guidelines.ResponsibilitiesLiving our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practicesOverseeing the pharmacy team during bench shifts, coaching and following up to improve performanceSupporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrailsContributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care; resolving insurance and/or medication issuesOffering and delivering immunizations; identifying and developing Immunization capabilities among Pharmacy TechniciansManaging pharmacy inventory with emphasis on protecting cold chain productsConducting onboarding for Technicians and Pharmacists, including training on CVS workflow and ensuring timely completion of required training and licensureEnsuring operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as neededPartnering with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and ensure cross-trained colleagues are progressing toward licensureOverseeing Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable); delivering annual performance reviews and closing gapsMaintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; managing the pharmacy scheduleReviewing business reporting to develop action plans for workflow, service, patient care, and complianceEstablishing a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion with openness to feedbackMaintaining clinical and technical skills; pursuing opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patientsSupporting access to care and improving patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissibleUnderstanding and complying with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and CVS Health policies; ensuring privacy and securityRequired QualificationsActive Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is locatedActive National Provider Identifier (NPI)Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list1-2 years of experience as a PharmacistEssential FunctionsRegular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekendsAbility to complete required training within designated timeframeAttention and Focus: ability to concentrate on a task, pivot between tasks, and ensure prescription accuracyCustomer Service and Team Orientation: proactively help others and respond to patient needsCommunication Skills: effective verbal and written communication; active listeningMathematical Reasoning: calculate days’ supply, quantities, and other dispensing calculationsProblem Resolution: address challenging interactions with appropriate actionsPhysical Demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, repetitive motions, visual acuity, and ability to lift up to 20 lbsTeam Management and Leadership: lead by example, delegate, coach, and drive high performanceOther tasks as directed by supervisor or managerPreferred QualificationsCompletion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program3-5 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer serviceAbility to work in the home store and across the market as neededAnticipated Weekly Hours37Time TypeFull timePay Range$65.00 - $82.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
