OverviewThe Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic Infectious Diseases physician to join the Division of Infectious Diseases/Department of Internal Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. The Division is actively recruiting an Infectious Diseases specialist with interest and/or expertise in general ID and HIV. This position will provide inpatient infectious diseases consultative services within the Medical Center on Main Campus and OSU East Hospital. The physician will also be expected to maintain an ambulatory longitudinal care clinic. In addition to coverage of general ID services, opportunities exist for coverage of several service lines, including a dedicated solid organ transplant service, Telehealth, and community hospital consultation. The division has established and maintains a robust Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) program, seeing approximately 2,200 patients last year. Participates in the training of Infectious Diseases fellows, housestaff and medical students, as well as advance practice providers and other allied medical professionals. The physician will be expected to participate in scholarly activities, for example clinical research, and quality improvement projects. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years.
