Family Medicine Physician Job with Veterans Health Administration in Portland, ORJoin to apply for the Family Medicine Physician Job with Veterans Health Administration in Portland, OR role at PracticeLink.The Women’s Health Clinic at the Portland VA Medical Center, part of the Primary Care Service in Portland, OR, is seeking a dynamic, board-certified or board-eligible physician for the position of Primary Care Women’s Health. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The incumbent will demonstrate proficiency in practice, planning, and self-direction in managing women veterans' medical needs. Candidates should be board-certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine, with experience and proficiency in women’s health care.The Women’s Health Clinic physician will care for women patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs. Opportunities may include working with resident physicians, nurse practitioners, and other learners. The role may involve performing women’s health procedures such as IUD insertions/removals, colposcopy, and implantable contraceptives. You will work with a full support staff including an RN, LPN, and medical support assistant as part of your Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT). Telephone call duties within the Primary Care division encompass 2-3 weeks per year.Responsibilities:Provide primary medical care and education for acute and chronic conditions, including gender-specific care such as pelvic and abdominal pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, infections, urinary incontinence, contraception, STI management, and menopause concerns.Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for an assigned panel of female primary care patients.Consult with other specialties as needed.Document, order tests, and follow up in the electronic medical record promptly.Provide timely follow-up on results, including view alerts.Prescribe medications according to VA formulary and legal regulations.The VHA emphasizes patient-centered, collaborative care in an environment that supports learning and continuous improvement.
