OverviewPsychiatrist 1099/W2 - San Leandro, CACompensation: $150 - 180 hourlyNexus HR is looking for a Psychiatrist for a reputable clinic in San Leandro, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in psychiatric care and a proven ability to evaluate, diagnose, and manage mental illnesses effectively.About the JobProvide compassionate care and treatment needed for patients’ mental health well-being and other relevant aspects of mental health. Identify possible mental health issues; diagnose and provide treatment plans accordingly through therapies medications, or a combination of both. Refer patients to other allied medical and non-medical professionals to provide holistic care.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, diagnose, and manage mental illness and prescribe and review appropriate medicationsAssess the condition of clients, from admission to an ongoing basisDevelop and facilitate individualized medical treatment care plansDevelop a therapeutic relationship with clientsSuccessfully de-escalate situations regarding clients in psychiatric or emotional emergenciesPerform administrative functions such as clinical charting and medication recordsCollaborate with physicians, psychologists, mid-levels, social workers, and other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progressWork collaboratively and respectfully with an integrated team of MDs, NPs, social workers, nurses, medical assistants, and support staff.May act as collaborating physician/clinical supervisor for psychiatric Nurse PractitionerKnowledge of principles and practices of modern clinical psychiatry, including abnormal psychology, diagnostic interviewing, community psychology, and community mental healthDetermine the diagnostic and therapeutic techniques needs of individual situations, take effective course of action, and follow through with effective treatment plansCulturally competent and able to work with a diverse populationKnowledge of psychological trauma, its effects on individuals and systems, and best practice treatment preferredEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff of all backgrounds and at all levelsQualificationsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsAbility to learn new EMR softwareBoard Certified in psychiatry, at least one year of experience as a licensed psychiatristActive California Medical License issued by the Medical Board of CaliforniaCompletion of a Psychiatry ResidencyActive California Medical License issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of CaliforniaCurrent California Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certificate in good standingMalpractice insurance (if contracted with locum)ScheduleMonday to Friday, 30 hours per weekMust be able to work for at least 6 months, preferably at least one yearClinical caseload of up to 25 patients a day #J-18808-Ljbffr
