OverviewThe Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek Radiation Oncologists (CNS, Thoracic, GI, and GU) to join the Department of Radiation Oncology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPhysician specializing in Radiation Oncology to serve as a member of the Department of Radiation Oncology; directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations; performs Radiation Therapy procedures; orders procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications; documents all services and instructions in the medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families; directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities; serves as preceptor and provides bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, undergraduate and graduate students, nursing staff, and other allied medical professionals; ensures continuing medical education requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and service activities.RequirementsMD or DO, board certified or board eligible in Radiation Oncology; completion of an accredited residency and fellowship training program; current or interim permit to practice medicine from the State of Ohio Medical Board; board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology; active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); sub-specialty board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology is preferred.How to ApplyTo be considered, application materials must include a cover letter and Curriculum Vitae.
