OverviewMSL/Sr. MSL, Gastroenterology (Michigan) role at BioSpace. This is the entry level MSL position in which the individual contributor will learn and develop the capabilities and responsibilities of the role as defined by AbbVie Medical Affairs.ResponsibilitiesExecute High Impact Territory Initiatives: develop, execute and maintain territory plans, including HCP and Investigator engagement plans aligned with medical and scientific objectives; use data and analytics to maximize opportunities within the territory.Identify, gain access to, and develop professional, customer-centric relationships with external experts (EEs) in the therapeutic area within the assigned geography.Deliver on territory plan objectives, meet project deadlines, achieve annual functional goals, and document meaningful data point observations (DPOs).Practice core capabilities in segmentation, DPOs, and optimal resource utilization.Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures, including accurate and timely documentation of HCP interactions.Provide scientific education relative to disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to healthcare providers and researchers.Continually educate self on market issues/trends, product knowledge, and new therapeutic areas of interest; create awareness and relationships for AbbVie in the medical community.Support research initiatives across development at the request of R&D, including site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and external collaboration management.Maintain cross-functional field partnerships and collaborate with in-field commercial teams, site management, monitoring, clinical research associates, and Medical Outcome Science Liaisons to support and meet shared business objectives.QualificationsBachelors degree in health sciences from an accredited university; advanced degree preferred; doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline. Relevant experience may be substituted for education requirements.≥2 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience or equivalent preferred.Strong problem-solving and analytic skills to translate territory and corporate needs into actionable objectives.Demonstrated leadership attributes aligned with company initiatives (e.g., All for One AbbVie, Clear and Courageous, Make Possibilities Real, Agile and Accountable, Decide Smart and Sure).Ability to quickly learn and apply foundational skills in Scientific Storytelling, Identifying Mobilizers, Medical Challenger, and Active Listening.Ability to meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory (background checks, drug screens, immunizations, etc.).Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.The candidate must live in the territory or be willing to relocate within the territory; majority of territory includes Michigan.Additional InformationThe compensation range described is a base pay range the company believes in good faith it will pay; actual compensation depends on geography and credentials and may be prehensive benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees.Eligibility to participate in short-term and long-term incentive programs.AbbVie is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to operating with integrity, driving innovation, transforming lives and serving our community.
