Heart Hospital of Austin is a specialty adult facility with 72 beds, featuring six operating rooms, one EP lab, and one cath lab. The hospital is nationally recognized for its award-winning cardiac care and supports a collaborative team model where anesthesiologists have professional autonomy, performing a mix of cases and supervising highly trained cardiac CRNAs. The facility provides access to high-acuity cardiac cases outside the academic setting in a community-focused environment, with strong provider support to ensure high-quality patient care. No OB, peds, neuro, transplants. In 2024 there were 543 pump cases, 256 TAVRs, and 108 mitral clips. Shifts Overnight call is home-call 9 weekends per year and 1 weekday per week Please contact us for more detailed information Team Leadership: Aidan De Leon, Chief MD Team Highlights: 9 CRNAs, 5 MDs on staff Responsibilities Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures Pre-anesthesia assessment Obtains and/or verifies patient consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition Performance of clinical intervention as needed Qualifications M.D./D.O.
