OverviewWashington Gastroenterology believes that digestive health is the foundation for a healthy life. We are committed to improving the quality of life and longevity of our patients and our communities through the prevention, detection, and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.We are WAGIWAGI is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician’s Assistant (PA-C) to join our gastroenterology medical practice working in affiliated hospitals.This role will be at MultiCare’s Good Samaritan and Auburn hospitals. It is a full-time weekend role.The Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP), as an independent healthcare provider, is responsible for delivering comprehensive treatment to both well and sick patients while working collaboratively within the gastroenterology health team. Via direct patient care, consultation, research, education, and partnership with other healthcare providers, demonstrates a high level of clinical experience in providing gastroenterology healthcare. Patients and families are educated by the APP on how to encourage wellbeing, avoid health complications, improve current health, and engage in acute and chronic illness. APPs are mentored by practice Physicians; PA-Cs practice within the WA State licensing to include practicing medicine with Physician supervision.ResponsibilitiesProvide care autonomously to a case load of inpatients in affiliated hospitalsConduct comprehensive or episodic health history, physical assessment, and pre-procedure workups of patients with acute or chronic gastrointestinal health problemsPrescribe and regulate medications per prescriptive authority in Washington StateProvides guidance and health education to patients to promote and maintain health within gastroenterology practiceOrder selected diagnostic tests and procedures as indicated by the patient’s conditionCollaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patientsProvides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits; maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent informationOther duties as assignedQualificationsThe following are requirements for Physician Assistant candidates:Graduate of a Physician Assistant program approved by the CAHEACurrent BLS certification requiredCurrent Washington State Driver’s license to be able to travel to other local clinics or hospitals as neededExtensive knowledge base of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient health problemsClinical experience in gastroenterology preferred or practice relevant area preferredThe following are requirements for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner candidates:Current WA State RN LicenseCurrent BLS certification requiredCurrent Washington State Driver’s license to be able to travel to other local clinics or hospitals as neededExtensive knowledge base of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient health problemsClinical experience in gastroenterology preferred or practice relevant area preferredSkills and AbilitiesTreat patients and families with respect and dignityMaintains professional working relationships with physicians and all staff membersInteracts positively with other providers and staffKnowledge of APP authorized Washington State scope of practiceResponsible for personal and professional growth and effective communicationDelegates appropriately to support staffCollaborates with managers for process improvementAbility to maintain sustained concentration and attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions, conflicting demands, and deadlinesCompletes work in the time allotted and seeks other duties when time allowsExhibits strong listening skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with other team membersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriateProficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and WordAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentPhysical Activities and RequirementsAbility to stand and walk throughout the day, up to 10 hours per dayProlonged periods of sitting and performing administrative duties including the use of computersAbility to bend, twist, stoop, and reachAbility to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed (up to 15 pounds)Must have the ability to utilize visualization, touch, and hearing to assess changes in patients’ conditionFine manipulation and ability to hold medical instrumentsIndividuals in this position will be working within affiliate local hospitals and may also work occasionally within WAGI pensation and BenefitsWashington Gastroenterology has an excellent compensation and benefit package that includes the following:Employees (and their families) who work full time (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and basic life insurance. In addition employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401(k) plan which includes a company provided safe harbor contribution of 3% of annual earnings and the potential for a company discretionary profit sharing contribution.All employees will be eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of .04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40 hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances. In addition, full time employees will be eligible for a Vacation accrual with a maximum annual accrual of 77 hours as a new hire.WAGI has 8 standard Holidays each year for which full time employees are eligible to receive paid holiday. In addition, full time employees will be given 1 Float Holiday each year that they can schedule.WAGI provides Malpractice Insurance, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) reimbursement budget of $5,400 per two year cycle; and 5 days of paid CME Time Off per year to complete CME.A new hire full time employee in this role will be eligible for a Hiring Bonus in the amount of $10,000.This is an Salary position and the anticipated Compensation range is $125,000 - $170,000.
