St. Joseph’s is the largest hospital in San Joaquin County and considered the 10th busiest cardiothoracic department in California. The Anesthesia Residency program started in July 2021 with 10 total Residents (4 PGY2/CA1 and 6 PGY1) and with approval for an additional 6 new Residents annually up to 24 total in the program. Residency subspecialty training currently available at St. Joseph’s include cardiac, obstetrics, critical care, acute and chronic pain and pediatrics.St. Joseph’s is centrally and conveniently located only 50 minutes from Sacramento, only 90 minutes from San Francisco and Yosemite National Park, and only a few hours away from Lake Tahoe.
