OverviewThe Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center are seeking a full-time urologist trained in Sexual Medicine and Male Infertility to join the Department of Urology. The academic rank and track are commensurate with academic record and experience.Position OverviewThe qualified applicant should have SMSNA fellowship training and experience in clinical management, research, and teaching of residents and medical students. The scope of duties includes diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of adult patients presenting with various disorders of the genitourinary system in office and hospital settings, with particular focus on sexual dysfunction, hypogonadism, Peyronies disease, ejaculatory dysfunction, and male infertility. This mature practice boasts a high volume of prosthetics and access to the da Vinci Robotic System. The practice has an established referral network with multidisciplinary collaborations and includes a dedicated nurse practitioner, a state-of-the-art video-urodynamics suite, substantial procedural and office space, and efficient clinical staff. Based on experience, there are added opportunities within a newly developed multidisciplinary Center for Gender Affirming Care. The Physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physician’s standards of practice.Department/Division OverviewThe Department of Urology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report for delivering high-quality care for urologic conditions. Our mission is to alleviate patient suffering through clinical care, patient-centered discovery, and educational innovation. The Department sponsors fellowship programs in Endourology and Urologic Oncology, while Nationwide Children’s Hospital sponsors a fellowship in pediatric urology.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe scope of duties includes diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of adult patients with various disorders of the genitourinary system in ambulatory and hospital settings, including sexual dysfunction, evaluation and treatment of male infertility, management of hypogonadism, Peyronies disease, evaluation and treatment of ejaculatory disorders, and general urology related to mens health. The practice is supported by a full-time advanced practice provider, a sexual counselor, and a dedicated clinic staff.RequirementsMedical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)Licensed or license eligible for Ohio and DEA licensureBoard certified or board eligible by the American Board of UrologyAdvanced fellowship training in Men’s Sexual Health/AndrologyQualify for appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor levelStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, faculty members, and other stakeholdersExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyCommitment to maintaining high standards of resident education and fostering a positive learning environmentHow to ApplyApplication materials must include a cover letter and Curriculum Vitae.
