PIH Health is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our established, high-performing team in Whittier, California. This is an outstanding opportunity to become part of a well-supported, collaborative program with a strong clinical reputation and a commitment to patient-centered care.Position Highlights:Comprehensive Surgical Practice: Engage in a wide variety of high-acuity cardiac and thoracic procedures, including but not limited to:Cardiac: CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, Bentall procedures, LVAD/RVAD implantationThoracic: Lobectomy, thoracotomy, thoracic aortic surgery, and procedures for pulmonary infectionsRobotics and MIS: Opportunities to perform minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries with access to the latest technology.Team-Based Model: Work alongside highly skilled surgeons and experienced PAs who perform endoscopic vein harvesting and assist in surgical and post-operative care.Manageable Call & Work-Life Balance : Enjoy a very manageable call rotation supported by a large, collaborative team. Knowledgeable regarding adult cardiothoracic surgeon scope of practice.Experience performing and interpreting CABG, valve repair or replacement, pacemakers, repair of type A dissections, TEVAR procedures, adult congenital cardiac repair and all aspects of thoracic oncology including mediastinoscopies, chamberlain procedures, lung resections through VATS, as well as esophageal surgery.Demonstrated experience with minimally invasive surgery is preferredPreferred training in Cardiothoracic Surgery of at least six to eight yearsFellow or certification from American Association for Thoracic Surgery.Demonstrated leadership abilitiesExcellent customer service skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities.Required ExperienceMD or DO from an accredited medical schoolBoard Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic SurgeryCalifornia medical license (or eligibility to obtain)Robotic experience or interest in developing robotic skillset is a plusCommitment to high-quality, compassionate patient careQualifications:Demonstrated expertise in heart and lung diagnoses: assessment, intervention, and patient care management.
