Provides status report to pharmacy management effectively communicating issues, concerns, and suggestions as appropriate. Manages and develops clinical initiatives and determines therapeutic alternatives when drug shortages are identified and communicates with medical staff leadership and key stakeholders. Assists with budget preparation and daily financial activity specifically in relation to high cost drugs.This position is part of the pharmacy department and functions as the pharmacy expert on the Infectious Diseases team, with a primary focus on supporting the OPAT program. This new position will play a key role in expanding OPAT services to include transplant ID patients and in developing the CoPAT service to optimize care for individuals receiving complex IV and oral antimicrobial therapies.Required EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONEducation: PGY1 and PGY2 from an ASHP-accredited residency program or Bachelor’s Degree of Science degree or PharmD from ACPE accredited school of pharmacyExperience: 5 years progressive clinical practice experience within specialty with PGY1 from an ASHP-accredited residency program or 8 years progressive clinical practice experience within specialtyComputer Skills, Data Entry ExperienceEnglish (speaking, reading, writing). Good general health and stress coping ability.
