OverviewRutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) Department of Medicine is seeking candidates for Academic Chief of the Division of Nephrology. The Chief will be responsible for the growth and advancement of research, faculty recruitment and development, scholarly activity, and clinical and teaching excellence. The new Chief will shape the growth of nephrology services across the RWJBarnabas/Rutgers Health System, a $5 Billion enterprise that cares for about 40% of all NJ residents. In concert with the Department, School and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), the Division Chief will expand interdisciplinary and translational research within the division.The current Division includes well-developed transplant nephrology and general nephrology programs. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced physician leader to work in an advanced healthcare market, expand services with the clinical and operational support and expertise of one of the nation’s leading health systems. New Brunswick is a desirable region of the Northeast with a diverse patient population, top-rated schools and easy access to both the New York Metropolitan and greater Philadelphia regions.ResponsibilitiesReport to the Chair of the Department of Medicine and lead collaborative research programs, mentoring junior faculty, and advancing nephrology on the national and international stage.Ensure Division-wide excellence in clinical care, research, and education with resources to meet high standards.Develop and expand interdisciplinary and translational research within the division and the broader health system.Promote clinical and teaching excellence and coordinate with RWJ/Rutgers Health System leadership on strategic growth.QualificationsMD or MD/PhD degree; Board certified in nephrology.Qualifications for appointment to Associate Professor or Professor at Rutgers University.Active funded research program in basic, translational, clinical, or health services research; strong academic credentials and a distinguished record across missions.How to Apply / ContactIf you are interested in learning more or have questions about the position, please reach out to Sarang Kim at Kim, MDProfessor and ChiefDivision of EducationChair, Search Committee for Chief of Nephrology #J-18808-Ljbffr
