OverviewGDIT is seeking an Army & Defense Agencies Sector CTO with deep DoD experience to bridge customer mission needs, GDIT technology solutions, and external technologies. This role drives business strategy and technical solutions for complex, large-scale proposals, and provides strategic direction for our Defense Agencies go-to-market approach while engaging with emerging technologies. The role requires translating technical details into language understood by DoD management and stakeholders.You will contribute to software and infrastructure realization and stay current through learning new skills and technologies in a setting with access to emerging tech and labs. The responsibility for determining customer needs and priorities, crafting technical solutions, shaping customer acquisitions, and positioning GDIT to win makes this role challenging and rewarding.ResponsibilitiesEvaluate existing technology solutions, vendors, and processes; identify opportunities for improvement and new capabilities that meet client needs.Conduct analysis and research to determine optimal partnerships and on-contract delivery options; develop and test rapid prototypes to demonstrate feasibility and potential of new ideas.Collaborate with operational teams to ensure smooth transition of new technologies and long-term success for clients and DoD mission objectives.Oversee Solutions Architects engaged in capture and proposal efforts; develop technical solutions for capture strategy and proposal responses.Meet with DoD customers to achieve deep mutual understanding of mission objectives and how they connect with GDIT offerings.Serve as a link between Division CTO organization, P&L Operations, and Growth functions to lead technology initiatives, introductions, and integration of technology solution concepts on current programs; develop and execute a go-to-market plan for technical solution ingestion within Army and Defense Agencies markets.Coordinate sector activities with technical Centers of Excellence, Pursuit Teams, Capability Teams, and Enterprise Solution Architecture to align technical elements with Sector Growth and Execution strategy.Assist in technical resources management; ensure resources are placed correctly and proactive technical risk management and issue resolution.Lead and coordinate sector technology pre-sales activities; ensure resources and solutions are deployed to support customer requirements; coordinate EIC activities to meet customer needs with appropriate technology readiness for senior government engagements.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree; in lieu of degree, four years of related experience required.Experience: 10+ years leading and managing complex IT initiatives; 10+ years of DoD experience; experience in R&D and rapid prototyping; experience developing and integrating emerging commercial technologies to meet government security requirements (e.g., NIAP, NIST, CSfC); DevSecOps experience deploying cloud and hybrid-cloud solutions with automation, containers, and Kubernetes; experience in developing and writing technical design and architecture artifacts for the DoD; experience supervising and mentoring technical staff.Technical skills: Firm knowledge across Cloud Computing, Enterprise IT, Managed Services, Cybersecurity, Software Development, Machine Learning, AI, and Data Science.Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance.Skills and Abilities: Ability to leverage relationships to identify and build Enterprise IT/Managed Services solutions; ability to strategize and co-develop solutions that accelerate DoD missions; outstanding oral and written communications.Preferred: Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or related; experience with multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle), hybrid applications, edge services; full-stack development experience; DoD/IC client engagement experience; ability to work collaboratively in dynamic environments; deep understanding of DoD approaches to cloud, AI, and cybersecurity technologies.LocationHybrid (with at least 3 days/week in the Falls Church office).SecurityUS Citizenship Required. Active Secret pensation & BenefitsThe likely salary range for this position is $242,250 - $327,750. Salary will be set based on experience, location, and contractual requirements and could fall outside this range.
