Overview Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas (local candidates strongly preferred; relocation support available for the right candidate) Company Overview Our client, a private equity–backed distribution and logistics company with revenues of $250M, is entering a transformative stage of growth and operational scale. Known for its strong customer base and regional footprint, the company is focused on building best-in-class operations, expanding into new markets, and creating sustainable enterprise value. Position Overview The COO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the private equity sponsor. This executive will oversee day-to-day operations across the company’s multi-site footprint, ensuring operational excellence, scalability, and profitability. The COO will play a critical role in executing growth strategies, building infrastructure, and enhancing efficiency while maintaining a relentless focus on customer service. Responsibilities Operational Leadership – Oversee daily operations across distribution, logistics, supply chain, and field services. Scalability & Efficiency – Drive process improvements, systems enhancements, and operational best practices to support rapid growth. P&L Accountability – Partner with the CEO and CFO to ensure revenue growth and margin expansion while delivering strong cash flow. Team Leadership – Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team across operations, supply chain, and customer service. Growth Execution – Support organic expansion and M&A integration initiatives, ensuring smooth onboarding and operational alignment. Customer Excellence – Champion a culture of customer focus, ensuring service quality and operational reliability. Technology & Systems – Implement technology solutions (ERP, WMS, TMS, automation tools) that enhance scalability and efficiency. Board & Investor Alignment – Collaborate with the CEO in providing operational updates, KPIs, and strategic initiatives to the Board and PE sponsor. Qualifications Proven track record as a COO, SVP/EVP of Operations, or divisional leader in distribution, logistics, supply chain, or related industries. Experience leading businesses in the $100M–$500M revenue range, ideally within PE-backed environments. Strong operational and financial acumen, with direct oversight of large-scale operations and P&L responsibility. Success driving process improvement, technology enablement, and cultural transformation in high-growth companies. Demonstrated experience leading multi-site operations and scaling teams. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
