This project is ideal for experienced engineers or PhD-level researchers passionate about reproducibility, rigorous experimentation, and enhancing the speed and reliability of machine learning training.Key ResponsibilitiesTransform external ML competitions into challenging, real-world tasks (e.g., model training, dataset preparation, experiment design).Draft detailed, executable natural language plans to complete MLE tasks.Implement plans in Python within a provided Docker environment.Validate implementations against original plans and document discrepancies.Ideal Qualifications5+ years of experience in applied machine learning OR a PhD in ML or adjacent fields.Strong Python engineering skills, particularly in model training and data handling.Familiarity with Docker-based development environments.Detail-oriented approach to technical planning and code validation.Prior experience with benchmarking or reproducibility in ML research (preferred).Ability to work independently under strict compliance mitment: ~20 hours/weekDuration: 2+ months, with possibility of extensionSchedule: Fully remote & asynchronous — work on your own scheduleCompensation & ContractUp to $150/hour, depending on experience and regionPayments issued weekly via Stripe ConnectApplication & Onboarding ProcessComplete a short AI interview (PS: Mercor team reviews applications daily.
