OverviewHead of Sales – Factoring & Trade Finance (Player-Coach Role in a Tech-Forward Finance Startup)About UsWe are a growth-oriented fintech startup building a modern Financial Operating System for supply-chain–oriented industries. Our platform specializes in factoring, receivables financing, and trade finance solutions for businesses in freight, logistics, international produce imports, textiles, utilities installation, property maintenance and other industries where cash flow is critical.We are hiring for a role as Head of Business Development & Sales with industry experience, leadership skills, and the ability to roll up their sleeves. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has previously served as a manager in finance/receivables factoring but still thrives on direct sales, business development, and relationship-building.Role OverviewAs Head of Sales, you will serve as both a strategic leader and a frontline producer. You will design and execute sales strategies, cultivate relationships with SMBs and mid-market companies, and build a sales team as we scale. You will engage directly in prospecting, cold calling, in-person client development, and industry networking, while also managing and mentoring junior reps in the future.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and lead the sales function for a startup specializing in factoring and supply chain finance.Develop go-to-market strategies targeting industries with high receivables financing needs.Establish KPIs, quotas, and reporting processes for sales performance.Mentor and manage sales team members as the company grows.Business Development & Sales ExecutionPersonally drive revenue through direct outreach: cold calls, emails, in-person visits, and trade show networking.Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through deal structuring, negotiation, and close.Develop partnerships with brokers, industry associations, and referral sources.Attend client meetings, trade shows, and industry events to expand market presence.Client EngagementConduct needs assessments to uncover client cash flow challenges and position factoring/trade finance solutions.Collaborate with underwriting and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and funding processes.Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing ongoing support and relationship management.Monitor competitors’ offerings, pricing, and technology tools.Identify new verticals, industries, and growth opportunities.Provide product feedback and insights to leadership based on client interactions.Qualifications3–5+ years of experience in factoring, receivables financing, trade finance, or related financial services.Bilingual with strong preference for fluency in Spanish & EnglishProven success in B2B sales and relationship-driven business development.Must be an outgoing, social personality who thrives by engaging with other people.Prior experience managing or mentoring salespeople.Strong network within target industries (freight, logistics, produce, textiles, property management, etc.) is highly fortable working in a startup/early-stage environment—resourceful, scrappy, and hands-on.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on execution and growth.What We OfferCompetitive base salary + performance-based commission structure.Health benefits premium reimbursement up to 50%.120 annual hours of PTO (accrued bi-weekly beginning with the first payroll)Simple IRA matching up to 3%10 floating holidays to be used within the month of the holiday and may not be rolled over$25,000 term life insuranceEmployer paid group life and AD&D insuranceEmployer paid long/short term disability insuranceParticipation in Company’s Discretionary Bonus ProgramOpportunity to build and shape the sales organization from the ground up.High visibility role reporting directly to company leadership.Dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with significant career volvement in building cutting-edge fintech solutions in factoring and supply chain finance.Seniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionSales and Business DevelopmentIndustries: Technology, Information and Internet #J-18808-Ljbffr
