OverviewJob Title: Assistant, General CounselLocation: Portland, Oregon (Relocation available)Industry: Energy – UtilitiesJob Category: Legal – Regulatory / Compliance LawBase pay range: $150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yrJob Salary: $175,000 - $200,000Job Number: 83291711ResponsibilitiesProvide legal advice on a variety of complex legal matters and projects, including Federal Energy Regulatory Commission matters and transmission and energy contracts.Ideal CandidateMeets the requirements as listed above.Has commercial transaction experience negotiating contracts – energy experience a bonus (negotiation of power purchase agreements, build transfer agreements, interconnection agreements).Law firm experience.Experience representing in state regulatory or administrative proceedings before state public utility commissions and experience in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission matters.Energy experience and general understanding of utilities.RequirementsJuris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and successful completion of the bar exam in one or more states where the company conducts business.8 years of previous law firm experience.Demonstrated in-depth experience and knowledge with legal and/or regulatory issues.Familiarity with the political and legal implications of decisions made by the company.Knowledge of the company’s strategic plan, regulatory and political environment, as well as the company’s policies, procedures, and practices, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Ability to assess and interpret external rules and regulations.A combination of law firm and corporate or agency experience.Energy experience and general understanding of utilities.BonusHas completed the bar exam for one or more states (Oregon, Washington, California, Utah, Idaho, and/or Wyoming).Skillscommission, regulatory compliance, federal energy regulatory commission, energy regulatory, contract negotiation, knowledge of legal implications, energy law, state regulatory proceedings, general, ability to assess regulations, commercial transaction, strategic planning, legal advice #J-18808-Ljbffr
