The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing innovative strategies to enhance and grow our interventional pulmonary services. The director will work closely with pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, and other providers within the health system to provide coordinated, comprehensive care.ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical leadership and direction for the interventional pulmonary programWork closely with the division, department, and health system leadership to ensure access to inpatient and outpatient IP careDevelop and implement protocols and guidelines for interventional pulmonary proceduresCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care across disease entitiesSupervise and mentor interventional pulmonary staff, including physicians, nurses, and techniciansParticipate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient safety and satisfactionStay abreast of advances in interventional pulmonary medicine and incorporate new technologies and techniques into practiceFoster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the interventional pulmonary teamOversee, teach, and mentor trainees (medical students, residents, fellows)Support the growth and development of the interventional pulmonary fellowship programIncrease the impact of Keck Medicine's IP program on the surrounding communityWork collaboratively with the Division of Thoracic Surgery staff and membersFacilitate growth and support of interventional pulmonary services at satellite hospitals of the Health SystemParticipate in the financial stewardship of the program in concert with the Division Chief and Department ChairRepresent the interventional pulmonary section in Divisional, Departmental, Hospital, and Health System matters when formally requested to present or be presentQualificationsMedical degree from an accredited institutionBoard certification in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and have completed an Interventional Pulmonology fellowshipFellowship training in Interventional PulmonologyMinimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing interventional pulmonary medicineExperience with most current interventional pulmonary techniques and instrumentationProven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team and collaborateProven commitment to teachingStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered careDemonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentThe annual base salary range for this position is $300,000-$450,000.
