If you are interested in joining our team and possess the needed licensure and certifications, we encourage you to apply.ResponsibilitiesDevelops and implements operational processes to ensure quality patient care across large departments and/or multiple units.Participates in developing and implementing patient care practices that meet internal policy, external regulations, and accepted standards across the continuum of care.Partners with leadership across services to develop and implement policies and procedures for coordination of care for all patient populations.Represents nursing units on interdisciplinary committees and, when appropriate, center-wide initiatives.Addresses a range of patient care topics impacting the medical center, including patient satisfaction, quality improvement, workflow efficiencies, and clinical information systems.Provides mentorship and leadership to nurse leaders.Reviews and approves leadership/professional development plans with succession planning in mind.Coordinates resource needs, including budgetary review and approval.Prepares and reviews variance analyses of budgeted revenues and expenses.Promotes collaborative decision making and shared governance across large departments and multiple units.Ensures a shared voice in nursing practice and continuous improvement of nursing and patient care outcomes.Responsible for employee recruitment, performance evaluation, progressive discipline, and staff development.Fosters a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and timely achievement of goals.Works with clinical educators and leadership to evaluate core nursing competencies for units.Collaborates with IT managers to develop and implement patient care information systems and coordinate efforts across units.Advises senior leaders on administrative and nursing issues and staffing needs.Designs and coordinates patient flow systems.Collaborates with labor relations on bargaining unit issues and contract negotiations at the local level.Facilitates resolution of human resources, labor relations, safety, and risk management issues.Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree in Nursing and eight or more years of progressive leadership experience in perioperative services, or equivalent combination of experience, education and training.Registered Nurse in the State of California.Strong hospital management experience with expertise in patient care and perioperative services; working knowledge of hospital/clinic operations and professional standards.Excellent communications and interpersonal skills for collaborative decision making across units and disciplines.Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills with ability to collaborate with physicians, management, and staff.Ability to foster a goal-oriented, teamwork-driven environment.Knowledge of healthcare information technology and patient care workflows.Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.Preferred QualificationsDoctoral degree in Nursing or relevant area.Certification in relevant area (e.g., CNOR, CSSM).Three or more years of leadership experience in an adult academic medical center.Experience overseeing multi-site operations (two or more locations).Experience in design and development including retrofit and new construction.Leadership experience in a unionized environment.Special ConditionsMust be able to work varied hours and locations based on business needs.Employment subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical.Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $168,800 - $341,200 (prorated if appointment Hourly: $80.84 - $pensation depends on experience, skills, licensure, and organizational needs.
