OverviewClinical Psychiatrist - Upstate New YorkLocation: Jamestown and Dunkirk, NY, USA, Compensation: $210,000 - $280,000 annually, Employment Type: Full-TimePurpose: This role involves delivering comprehensive behavioral healthcare services to both children and adults within an integrated care facility. The psychiatrist may also supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners who are not yet fully qualified for independent practice.ResponsibilitiesProvide outpatient care to individuals experiencing changes or declines in their mental state.Collaborate autonomously with other members of the medical and behavioral health teams, exercising specific clinical privileges approved by the clinic's Board of Directors.Participate in a multidisciplinary team that offers primary care, dental, and behavioral health services to staff and patients.Conduct patient histories and physical examinations, assess risk factors, order therapeutic and diagnostic tests, and manage consultations and appointments.Prescribe medications in accordance with clinic policy and relevant state regulations.Consult with physicians on cases that fall outside the scope of other providers' qualifications.Accurately document all pertinent patient data in medical records and case presentations.Develop, implement, and review healthcare education programs for patients and families focused on disease prevention.Ensure seamless communication with other healthcare professionals to facilitate effective delivery of clinic services.Offer consultation to the clinic's nursing and medical staff to enhance holistic patient treatment and improve overall service quality.Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners, students, or interns as required.Perform psychiatric evaluations requested by external organizations for various purposes (e.g., mental competency, employment, bariatric assessments).Education, Skills, and QualificationsMedical degree (MD or DO)Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry and or Addiction PsychiatryCurrent registration in New York State to practice psychiatry.Self-motivated, energetic, passionate, and innovative.A minimum of five years of experience in ambulatory or public health settings.Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.Strong leadership and organizational competencies are essential.Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish, is preferred but not mandatory.Benefits and Work EnvironmentFederally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) offer a comprehensive healthcare experience with an emphasis on the whole person.Work within a diverse multidisciplinary team (including chiropractors, primary care providers, behavioral health and psychiatric providers, pediatricians, and an on-site pharmacy).Designated as a qualifying site for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program and National Health Service Corps (NHSC) student loan repayment.Access to a variety of health, dental, and vision plans through Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.Annual contribution of $10,000 towards family health/dental/vision premiums, and $5,000 for single individuals.403b Retirement Plan (with up to 4% matching funds).Flexible Work Schedules, including weekends off.Manageable Patient Caseloads.Emphasis on Work-Life Balance.Malpractice coverage through the Federal Tort Claims Act.Reimbursement for professional dues and a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) allowance.Four weeks of Paid Time Off (divided between personal and sick leave).Six paid holidays.Thorough new hire onboarding and extensive training with ample support.Staff retreats and engaging activities such as monthly virtual BINGO. #J-18808-Ljbffr
